FAQ's
1. How does BOTOX® work?
Movement of the muscles of the face causes the skin to crease. Over time the skin becomes less elastic. Repeated movement creates visible lines. BOTOX® relaxes these muscles thereby softening lines and wrinkles in the skin.
2. Who is BOTOX® for?
For anyone over the age of 18 who is concerned with lines or wrinkles between the brows, on the forehead or around the eyes (crow's feet) We recommend that dynamic wrinkles, the kind of lines that show on your face when you make expressions, are best addressed early, before they become more permanent passive lines.
3. Is Treatment with BOTOX® painful?
Botox® injection is a simple 15-minute process consisting of a few tiny injections with a fine gauge needle. Topical numbing cream or a cold pack may be used prior to injection. Any discomfort is usually minimal and brief.
4. Will my facial expressions continue to look natural?
Although results are visible, BOTOX® will not radically change your facial expressions or make you look like you've "had work done". The muscle activity that causes wrinkles is simply reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised, you'll just be surprised without the wrinkles.
5. When will I see results and how long will they last?
Within days you may see a marked improvement in the treated areas. The appearance of lines and wrinkles continue to soften for up to a month, but most people experience the peak benefit at about 1 week. Your results will last up to 3-4 months.
