David Thomas, MD

The mission of The Medical Spa @ GMG is to provide compassionate and customized care to our patients. We strive to provide the highest quality care in a relaxed and tranquil setting. Our spa is under the direction of David Thomas, M.D.

 
Dr. David Thomas is board certified in internal medicine and has a very successful practice in internal medicine and bariatric medicine. He also has certification in Botox and dermal fillers. Dr. Thomas attended medical school at UNC-CH and did internship and residency at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. He is currently a member of the American Associatian of Bariatric Physicians and The Obesity Society.

 
Tracey Michaels leads the staff here at The Medical Spa. She is a graduate of Gaston College. She has been with the Spa since 2004 and has been in health care for over 20 years.  She has earned certification and training in Obagi, Vivite, SkinCeuticals.

 
Cathi Putnam graduated from The Whole You School of Massage & Bodywork, Pembroke State University, and Lees McRae College. She is experienced in different massage modalities. She enjoys working in medical massage assisting clients in reducing pain levels, increasing flexibility and range of motion while reducing stress, enhancing relaxation and renewal in the body.
Darlene B. Smith is a licensed Aesthetician.  She graduated from Carolina Academy, a Paul Mitchell School, and holds certification in Obagi, Vivite, SkinCeuticals and Dermalogica skin care lines and is also certified in Glo Minerals makeup and Dermaplaning.  She specializes in Acne Treatments and Age Renewal Treatments.  She has a passion for assisting others in maintaining a healthy, youthful appearance.

Brittany Caldwell is a valuable member of our spa staff. She is a graduate of Gaston College. She has earned certification and training in Obagi, Vivite, SkinCeuticals and GloMinerals. She is able to assist you in our Aesthetics as well as Weight Loss.
Francy Jimenez is the newest addition to our staff. She is a graduate of Kaplan College and is from Columbia, South America. She is fluent in both English and Spanish. She has earned certification and training in Vivite and SkinCeuticals.

Juanita Gunnell is a graduate of Winthrop University with a Masters of Science degree in food and nutrition.  She has worked for over 20 years in counseling clients in nutrition and dietary assistance. She has been with our office since 2004.
